Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 October 2026 Last updated: 1 October 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Rectifyq (“Rectifyq”, “we”, “us”, “our”), governing your access to and use of rectifyq.com, its subdomains, and any related tools, applications and services (the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. About the Services
Rectifyq is an independent, Malaysia-focused cyber threat intelligence platform. The Services include published threat intelligence, threat actor profiles, trackers (such as ransomware victim and phishing trackers), tools, and reference content. Some features may allow you to sign in, including with your Google account.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it to these Terms.
3. Accounts and Google Sign-In
Some features may require you to sign in. If you sign in with Google:
- You authorise us to access only the data covered by the permissions you approve on the Google consent screen.
- Our handling of Google user data is described in the Privacy Policy and complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- You can revoke our access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that occurs under it. Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law, including Malaysian law such as the Computer Crimes Act 1997 and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998
- Probe, scan, test or attack the Services, or bypass security or access controls, without our prior written permission
- Overload, disrupt or interfere with the Services, including through abusive automated scraping or crawling that ignores our robots.txt or rate limits
- Use the Services or their content to harass, defame, dox, or harm any person or to facilitate unlawful activity, including cyber attacks
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation
- Upload malware or unlawful content
- Remove copyright, attribution or other notices
We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that we believe violates these Terms.
5. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the content of the Services, including text, analysis, graphics, data compilations, design and code, is owned by Rectifyq or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may view and share links to our content, and quote limited excerpts for non-commercial, journalistic, research or educational purposes with clear attribution to Rectifyq and a link to the source. You may not copy, republish, sell, or create derivative works from substantial portions of our content without written permission.
Indicators of compromise and similar technical threat data that we publish may be used for defensive security purposes, subject to any Traffic Light Protocol (TLP) or handling markings shown on the relevant content. Respect the marking: content marked above TLP:CLEAR must not be shared beyond the permitted audience.
Third-party names, trademarks and reports referenced on the Site belong to their respective owners. Their mention does not imply endorsement.
6. Your Content and Submissions
If you send us content (such as tips, samples, feedback or reports), you confirm you have the right to share it. You grant Rectifyq a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it to operate, improve and publish the Services, with attribution or anonymity as agreed with you. Please do not send us personal data, confidential information or malware samples you are not authorised to share.
7. Information Provided “As Is” – No Professional Advice
Threat intelligence is inherently uncertain. The Services are provided for general information and awareness only. Content may be incomplete, change over time, or contain errors, and attribution and assessments reflect our analytical judgement at the time of publication.
Nothing on the Services constitutes legal, regulatory, financial, insurance or professional security advice, or an incident response engagement. You are responsible for validating information and for decisions you make based on it. For regulatory obligations (for example under the Cyber Security Act 2024 or the PDPA) or live incidents, consult qualified professionals and the relevant authorities, such as NACSA and MyCERT (Cyber999).
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rectifyq and its owners, contributors and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or business, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Services or reliance on their content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed MYR 10, or the amount you paid us for the Services in the preceding 12 months, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rectifyq and its owners, contributors and affiliates from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The Services may rely on or link to third-party services, including Google, Cloudflare, and external sources of threat reports. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services, content or policies. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.
12. Availability, Changes and Termination
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law. You may stop using the Services at any time and, if you have connected a Google account, revoke access as described above. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law) will survive.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, unless mandatory law gives you rights to bring a claim elsewhere. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern informally.
15. General
- Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
- Severability: If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
- No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a business transfer.
